Call of Duty: WW2's Nazi zombies co-op mode has been officially unveiled. It's simply called Nazi Zombies.
Set in a Bavarian village in Mittelburg, Germany, Nazi Zombies will look rather familiar to those who played the zombie-based co-op campaigns in previous Call of Duty games. The World War 2 setting is different, however, looking a lot more like something out of Wolfenstein: The Old Blood.
The co-op mode will star David Tennant (Doctor Who), Elodie Yung (Daredevil), Katheryn Winnick (Vikings), Udo Kier (Melancholia) and Ving Rhames (Dawn of the Dead), each of whom's likeness will be captured in the game.
'This is unlike anything before, we're taking players to some very dark, grim places in Nazi Zombies. This is one hell of a horror experience,' said developer Sledgehammer Games' studio head and co-founder Glen Schofield.
Call of Duty: WW2 launches 3rd November on all platforms. Those who pre-order will get early access to a private beta, that will debut on PS4 25th August.

Forgotten your details?
Although Call of Duty: WW2 has now been officially confirmed by publisher Activision, there are still many questions surrounding the upcoming title that have yet to be answered. However, already some bits of information are getting leaked, and so fans of the FPS franchise are able to put together at least a vague picture of what to expect from the game. One leak that has been of interest to gamers has been the news that the title will include a new co-operative mode.
News of this co-op mode in Call of Duty: WW2 comes via a leaked advertisement for the game. According to this leak, the co-operative part of Call of Duty: WW2 “unleashes a new and original story,” and will consist of a “next-level standalone game experience full of unexpected, adrenaline-pumping moments.”
Exactly what this means remains to be seen, and will no doubt be confirmed by Activision or developer Sledgehammer Games soon. However, a standalone co-op mode with a narrative all of its own would certainly be a welcome addition for many gamers, with most co-op experiences consisting of either one-off missions or the ability to add a second player into the single player campaign.
This was far from the only tidbit of information revealed because of this advertisement, either. As well as a potential release date of November 3, 2017, the leak also gave up a few details about Call of Duty: WW2‘s campaign and multiplayer. The game’s campaign will return players to the D-Day landings at Normandy, for instance, while the multiplayer will give players the option of multiple well-known sites from World War 2.
Indeed, Call of Duty: WW2 has already been rife with leaks, with details about the game, including artwork, coming far before Activision had discussed it. Since the game was confirmed by Activision, however, gamers have already been able to get an accidental look at screenshots of Call of Duty: WW2‘s campaign, so the publisher will perhaps be looking to tighten up ship when it comes to information getting out.
It’s worth noting, of course, that these details have not been confirmed by Activision or Sledgehammer Games as of yet. However, with a livestream for the reveal set for Wednesday, April 26, it will hopefully not be long before fans of the franchise wanting to know more get some of the answers they crave.
Call of Duty: WW2 has an unconfirmed release date of November 3, 2017, with a reveal livestream set for April 26, 2017.

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Co-op
The events in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s story campaign will lead into the game’s co-op mode.
Although Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward is not yet ready to talk about the game’s co-op mode in detail, it did confirm that it won’t be Zombies.
This isn’t necessarily surprising given recent history and leaks, but it puts in perspective the studio’s vision for the reboot. It was previously revealed that character progression is shared among single-player, co-op, and multiplayer. Campaign gameplay director Jacob Minkoff discussed this approach in an interview with PlayStation Lifestyle.
According to Minkoff, the campaign leads directly into the co-op mode.

“We’re not ready to talk about cooperative play yet, but what I will tell you is that the single-player storyline goes directly into the co-op storyline,” he explained. “No stop. The events just continue. So those elements – gameplay, progression, story – they just continue throughout everything that we have on the disc or digital download.”
“Knowing that we needed to keep it more similar across the different modes, we decided to really lean into that, and make it completely continuous,” added Minkoff. Aoe3 failed to join game lan.
This certainly sounds like an upgraded version of Modern Warfare 2’s Spec Ops mode. In that game, players got to go through existing campaign missions cooperatively with a friend, but the mode didn’t offer much in the way of narrative.
There’s a lot we still don’t know about Modern Warfare, much which will no doubt be revealed in the coming months.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out October 25 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
